People say they're scared of these psychopaths withouth feelings, but I bet you'd be more scared to see a person that feels like you do, because that means that these psychopaths aren't special, anyone and everyone can one day wake up and cause pandemonium upon this earth, and you would be a victim
You have a favorite color, but you do not wish this to be the only color. You may paint the walls in your room this color, but you will not paint EVERYTHING within this room that color. You would lose the ability to discern between objects. It would be no less stale than a white padded mental asylum. Therefore, is it not a symphony of colors that makes a painting so beautiful? An array of colors that makes a field of flowers to refreshing? The different shades of grey and white on a mountain range, contrasted with the vibrant sunset that make it so inspiring.
I think that the question assumes that diversity always enriches, but that is a value judgment, not a fact. A symphony works because the notes are arranged, not merely because they differ. A field of flowers refreshes because of pattern and proportion, not simply variety.
The same logic applies to color. Uniformity and diversity are both empty without structure. Neither is inherently beautiful or stale. They become meaningful only in relation to a purpose or a perceiver. So the answer depends entirely on what the is person trying to see or do.
If the past can't be changed, then what does "forgiveness" actually do? It doesn't undo the hurt. It doesn't erase what happened. So when someone forgives you, they are really just deciding to stop holding it against you. That makes sense between two people.
But with yourself, it gets weird.
The "you" who did the bad thing and the "you" who wants forgiveness are the same person. You can't escape yourself. So when you say, "I forgive me," what are you even saying? Are you saying, "That wasn't really me"? But it was. Or are you saying, "It was me, but I'm letting it go"? But how can you let go of something you did? You are the one who re it.
If you forgive yourself, are you being too easy on yourself, like you're pretending it wasn't that bad? But if you don't forgive yourself, are you just punishing yourself forever, even though you can't change anything?
Which one is worse: forgiving too quickly and forgetting who you were, or never forgiving and never letting yourself become someone new?
Just because life doesn't come with meaning doesn't mean it can't have meaning. It's not that nothing matters, it's that you get to decide what does. That's the scary part, but also the good part.
If nothing matters in a big, universal sense, then the small things matter more, not less. The cup of coffee. The person you were kind to today. The apology you gave or received. Those aren't meaningless, they're all the meaning there is.
So yeah, life doesn't matter from above. But from the inside? It matters because we are here, living it. And that might be the best part.
You are constantly changing. Constantly evolving. If you don’t believe this, go to any game you haven’t played in a few years. Everytime I go back to Forza Horizon 3, which is like every two years, I’m always surprised with the straight BULLSHIT I was cooking up. And I’m sure in like 10 years I’m going to feel the same when I periodically revisit Horizon 6, especially with the Israel and furry covered Nissan Bee-1 I spent an hour making

If melancholy is the price of seeing the world clearly, is clarity a gift or a wound?
Its neutrality
More often than not the right choices hurt the most,
But some things are worth the pain , so how much do you value clarity?

You never truly forgive yourself, you just start to see yourselves in a different light
